AGDQ 2021 is the second-highest earning marathon in the event’s colorful history, raising an impressive $2,758,847 in donations from the game-playing public for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. That means this year’s charity donation is second only to AGDQ 2020. The video showcases Cyberpunk 2077 running on both PS4 Pro and PS5 via backwards compatibility. The gameplay is taken from the Nomad lifepath, one of the three playable backstories players can choose to jump into when they kick off their adventure. In it, you can see action from the Badlands, the desert area which surrounds Night City, as well as from the streets of Night City itself. Last week, the developer showed the game running on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X....

The game, which is being developed by Pendulo Studios, is “an exclusive, original story, freely inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo.” So whilst it’s not going to be a retelling of the cinema classic, it is going to share some thematic similarities. That’s probably intentional. “The main themes of the game are roughly the same ones that appear in the movie: obsession, madness, manipulation, identity, and the confusion between imagination, dreams, memory and reality,” said Josue Monchan, narrative designer at Pendulo Studios, in a press release when the game was first revealed....

The past few days have exposed a budding cheater problem in Call of Duty: Warzone. Posts about encountering blatant cheaters are a daily occurrence on the game’s subreddit, with no signs of slowing down. In response, Activision said that over 50,000 players have been permanently banned since Warzone’s launch. The company also talked a little bit about how it fights cheating in the game. The big news is that in-game reporting is being revamped so that players can more easily report suspicious behaviour....

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was a cultural phenomenon upon its release in 2017. IO Interactive has announced that it’s working on ray tracing for the upcoming Hitman 3. The feature sadly won’t be there at the game’s launch, though it will arrive later in 2021. It’s not clear whether ray tracing will only be available on PC, but the announcement was made in a blog post discussing a partnership with Intel. According to IO, the deal will allow the developer to better optimise Hitman 3 for high-end PCs and CPUs with a high core count....

Originally revealed during this year’s QuakeCon panel, this update promises to be one of the game’s biggest yet. Along with Horde Mode, you can also expect enhancements to competitive 2v1 Battlemode which will feature a new arena and streak-based rewards and more. Because the development team doesn’t want to spoil anything, not much else was revealed about the update, so you will just have to remain satisfied with the teaser until the content drops on October 26....

The news comes from Reddit, where an anonymous programmer shared their findings after investigating the game’s “dump files.” “So, as a programmer myself, I took the liberty to investigate the dump files myself,” they wrote. “Let’s say that the result is not very… promising.” The poster goes on to include an image of a line from the game’s code, which was screenshotted at the exact point it crashed. “What this piece of code means is that the computer is trying to write the value in the right to the memory address in the left, the problem is, the memory specified doesn’t exist,” they wrote....

Horizon Zero Dawn developer Guerrilla Games has finally made it possible to pre-load the game. The pre-load comes in at 67.1GB, but it’s only available on Steam. Owners of the game on the Epic Games Store will seemingly have to wait until Friday to download it, which isn’t out of the ordinary. The EGS’s track record with pre-loads has been spotty at best, with some games offering the ability and others not....

Some necessary information first: while the series in general is one of the best ever, I won’t hear any of this nonsense about Mario Kart 64 or Double Dash being superior. They’re not. The original that was released by Nintendo way back in 1992 for the SNES was the first and greatest, mostly because it boasted the inclusion of the track Ghost Valley 1. Equal parts tricky and devious, learning the intricate nature of the course could see you reach breakneck speeds, and risking it all to abuse the shortcut using a well-timed feather power-up to hop a small gap had more tension than a Hollywood movie....

This next Witcher – let’s just call it The Witcher 4, for the sake of ease and to appease the Google Gods – will be developed using Unreal Engine 5. That’s a shocker, in large part because CD Projekt has spent a great deal of time building REDengine, their own proprietary technology that has been built from the ground up with the sort of games it makes in mind. It’s powered most of the studio’s games....

Swedish homeware brand IKEA has teamed up with ASUS’ Republic of Gamers (or ‘ROG’) arm to create a new line of “affordable gaming furniture accessories”. “By teaming up with ROG, IKEA wants to combine its home furnishing knowledge with ROG’s expertise in creating exceptional gaming experience,” the company says in a press release. Though there’s not an awful lot of information about what to expect from the collaboration at the time of writing, it stands to reason that the two companies will want to corner the gaming desk, chair, and streaming setup sector of the market....

The in-game images of Redfall apparently show an early version of the game, so it’s worth noting you aren’t seeing a finished product. Looking over the images, it appears the game will have some looter shooter elements, a skill tree, ultimate abilities, tiered weapons, different characters, and more. While not much is known about the FPS title as far as gameplay, we do know it takes place in a town called Redfall located in Massachusetts which is under siege by a legion of vampires that have blocked out the sun....

For those who haven’t read it yet, the weekly update brought news of a totally reworked gunsmith - an aspect of the game I had totally disregarded from my mind as a component in need of refinement. Sure it means there’s a mad dash to spend all our gunsmith materials, but that’s a chore well worth the rework. Then there’s the changes to blue engrams. While levelling, these act as occasional upgrades that allow you to soar through the power levels as you experience new content, but soon become inventory filler once you hit the end game....

Made available as part of July’s lineup, Intergrade comes bundled with the Intermission DLC by default. Only for some reason, neither the base game nor the option to download just the DLC was available for some. According to many PlayStation users online, the base game was listed as not available if they already owned Final Fantasy 7 Remake for either PS4 or PS5, whether they had purchased the non-Intergrade version or downloaded it last year through PS Plus....
