A new update for the PlayStation 5 aims at solving some of the problems people have had playing PS4 games. The new firmware update, version 20.02-02.50.00, addresses an issue where the PS4 version of the game will sometimes be installed even when the user has already upgraded it to the PS5 edition. This would be the first software update since December 9. Firmware 20.02-02.30 solved PS4 data transfer issues, as well as WiFi connectivity problems, on top of some tweaks to the PS5’s DualSense controller....

Twitter user Axk_000 appears to have discovered a glitch that allows you to shift the game’s perspective from the third-person viewpoint that has become so iconic into the game into a more intimate, first-person one (thanks Gamespot). Better yet, if you want to try the glitch yourself, it appears like it’s not that hard to pull off. All you need to do is pulling out the in-game camera, hold an item from the menu, and then cancel the item hold....

The update will include new volleyball moves, additional Leg Strap functionality, and adds two new ranks to the Pro League. Releasing on July 26 in North America and June 27 in Europe, the update allows the Leg Strap accessory to be used in four-on-four and one-on-one soccer matches. The accessory allows you to use a kicking motion in real life, and the game transforms these movements into in-game actions. Likewise, you can also move your hands like you’re jogging in place, to dash in the game....

The 2 million figure for Nioh 2 was announced today by Koei Tecmo. Meanwhile, sales of Nioh and the Nioh Complete Edition have exceeded 3 million sold. This means that sales of the Nioh series as a whole has now exceeded 5 million in cumulative sales. This includes total package shipments and download sales (thanks, Gematsu). Nioh 2 was released in March 2020 for PS4 before heading to PC earlier this year....

That’s why, when Nvidia revealed the new GeForce RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090, a certain subset of gamers immediately asked one question: when’s the 3060? Well, the answer is now, with the release of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - the cheapest current-generation card Nvidia has on offer, but nevertheless an impressively powerful piece of kit. If you can get your hands on one - which will surely be a challenge based on the stock shortages of other cards - the RTX 3060 Ti will set you back $399 / £369, putting it quite a clip cheaper than trying to lay your hands on a new next-generation console....

This bug is likely a result of the intended new-player experience for those who weren’t Overwatch 1 players, as this group will need to grind through over 100 matches in order to unlock all of the original roster.The bad news is that it seems like the game is applying this restriction to players who are anything but new, forcing them to reboot the game as the only current fix which throws them back into the queue....

Babylon’s Fall has not sold very well on any platform, but things have been especially dire on PC. On Steam, the game’s concurrent player count peaked at a meagre 1,166 players at launch, and has been dropping ever since. Usually, the online action game averages around 50-60 players every day. Last week, however - specifically on Wednesday, May 4 - that peak concurrent was down to just one. A single person was online in-game at that point....

Despite incorporating many elements of the looter-shooter sub-genre of RPGs, Outriders won’t feature microtransactions, and outside of the demo releasing on February 25, isn’t free-to-play. However, with many other titles continually expanding across multiple patches, People Can Fly’s commitment to distancing itself from the live service buzzword has led some people to question whether anything new will be added to Outriders post-launch. “We don’t mean by ‘this is not a live service game’, that we’ll abandon the game immediately after launch,” Bartosz Kmita, game director on Outriders, explained to VG247....

With the release of Overwatch 2, there have obviously been a range of changes implemented in the game. Loot boxes are gone, the battle pass is in, for example. There have been changes to competitive too, but one change obviously wasn’t clear for some players. Season 2 recently kicked off, and players have found that they aren’t receiving the level of rewards they expected to in ranked, as it turns out that rewards are based on the rank a player is at the end of a season now (thanks, PCGamesN)....

Well, Overwatch 2 has replaced the old method of unlocking new content — a combination of free and premium loot boxes that contained skins — with a traditional battle pass that has become all the rage over the past few years. This pass contains skins, sprays, voice lines and yes, even new heroes… Let’s start with that final point, a real rough spot for some among the Overwatch 2 player base....

Despite the property switch, Perfect Dark is very much a sequel to GoldenEye. In many ways it is GoldenEye turned up to eleven; detail is now dense enough that the RAM-boosting N64 Expansion Pak accessory was required to even start the campaign missions. Small details in GoldenEye like enemy reactions to being shot in specific places are now writ large. Levels are larger and more dynamic with lighting effects that at the time boggled the mind....

The head of Xbox Phil Spencer has apologised for the lack of Xbox Series X and Series S hardware available right now. The Microsoft exec appeared at GlitchCon to discuss the consoles’ launch with streamers Negaoryx and Cupahnoodle. Spencer revealed that one of the top bits of feedback he had received was how difficult it was to actually find the new consoles. “We need more consoles. The number one request I get over and over is, ‘it’s so hard to get the consoles right now and I really apologise for that,” Spencer said....

With the release of the game’s biggest update earlier today, patch 0.3.0, Weekly Missions have arrived in Battlefield 2042. By completing each weekly set, you earn a unique cosmetic. Unsurprisingly, one of the early unlocks is Christmas-themed. By completing the week three missions, you unlock the Father Winter skin for Specialist Boris… which makes him look like Santa Claus in a sense. Before that, the week two reward will get you the Big Nic skin for the M1A5 tank… which you can think off as Santa’s sleigh, especially with those reindeer on the tread covers....

This, in a sense, is why that famed Charizard card was so sought after. In the proper TCG, with the proper rules, it’s a powerful but balanced card. But the proper rules of the trading card game are complicated and relatively slow....

With the update, Mega Raids won’t require as many people to take the Pokemon down, and you’ll be able to Mega Evolve your Pokemon from the raid and battle prep screens instead of having to do it ahead of time. Pokemon you have Mega Evolved before will now have an additional visual effect added to their information page, and Mega Levels are being implemented changes are coming to how Mega Energy is used....
