The new trailer, introduced at the end of Ubisoft Forward by none other than Yves Guillemot himself, debuted some amazing graphics and showed off what Massive’s Snowdrop engine can really do. Ubisoft announced that it’s working on a game based on James Cameron’s Avatar way back in 2017, and since then we’ve heard precious little about the series – until today. Ubisoft notes that the title will be a first-person action-adventure game, and it’ll focus on the battle of the Na’vi against humans and their industrialization of the eponymous Pandora planet....

Back 4 Blood has undoubtedly been one of the most exciting games at E3 2021. Not only did we get to see the game’s Swarm PvP mode, we also learned at the show that the co-op shooter will be available on Game Pass on day one. Developer Turtle Rock kept the train of good news going by announcing that only the party leader needs to own the DLC for everyone else in the match to play it....

Battlefield 2042 represents a radical revision in terms of scale, features and mechanics for the Battlefield series. Though today’s reveal trailer may not have conveyed much, DICE spilled the beans at a pre-reveal event which we attended. Class-based combat is one of the hallmarks of Battlefield, and 2042 is taking that to a new level. Classes now exist as general categories that each focus on a specific role, but also allow for different variations of those roles to exist within....

DICE has outlined the high-level changes being made to Battlefield 5 later this week with patch 6.2. The developer is revising most of the TTK changes introduced with patch 5.2 in December. The poorly-received TTK changes are being taken out in favour of the more familiar, lethal TTK the game enjoyed last year. In essence, these changes will make weapons lethal up close, increase recoil, and make drop off less severe....

December 2021’s report finds total industry spending on hardware, content, and accessories down 1% year-over-year (yoy) to $7.5 billion. Hardware sales saw a 3% decline when compared to December 2020 to $1.3 billion. According to a job listing, the company is putting together a team to develop a “AAA mobile experience that will bring the thrilling, fluid and large-scale action of Call of Duty: Warzone to players on the go.” The company is looking to fill various positions for this “ambitious mission” to bring the “large-scale, battle royale experience” to mobile. Chernobyl’s creator, Craig Mazin, is the main creator behind the upcoming The Last of Us HBO series. We already know that Mazin, together with Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, will be working on crafting the show. Now, it turns out Johan Renck, who directed all of Chernobyl’s episodes, is also on board. Renck told Discussing Film (via Dual Shockers) that he will be directing “at least the pilot.” The acclaimed TV director said he may not be as involved with The Last of Us as he was with Chernobyl, but left it open....

Toys for Bob, the studio behind Crash Bandicoot 4, Spyro Reignited and many Skylanders games, has turned into a support team for Call of Duty: Warzone. Toys for Bob’s official Twitter account broke the news overnight. “Toys for Bob is proud to support development for Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone, and look forward to more to come,” the Tweet reads. Perhaps more surprising than this sudden shift is that it revealed that Activision has seemingly let go of a number of Toys for Bob developers recently, many of which are responsible for Crash 4 and the studio’s recent work....
