Why? Well, back when Project Rene was revealed at the Behind the Sims Summit on October 18, we didn’t actually get to see all that much of the project. We witnessed a few minutes of early content, mainly focusing on how we will be able to customise furniture, enhance our builds, and play alongside friends. Considering how reportedly early Project Rene is in development, it didn’t surprise me that we only saw this minimal amount of in-game footage....

Last year, Ubisoft announced that a remake of the original Splinter Cell is in development, coming from the studio that developed Far Cry 6. Nothing has really been revealed since then, as is often par for the course when it comes to video game announcements. But as spotted by PlayStation Universe, we have more of an idea of how the game will be different from the original thanks to a recent scriptwriter job listing....

Set in an elven world 1,200 years before the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, the prequel tells of the creation of the prototype Witcher and the events that led to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one. This collision created rifts of different realms bringing with it a force known as chaos or magic. The event also displaced many native races, unable to fight off so many dangerous creatures....

You could already take the moreish game of Gwent on the go thanks to The Witcher 3’s release on Nintendo Switch, but now next-gen consoles and PC are getting a new patch which takes the game’s vast world to new graphical heights with the magic of ray-tracing. So exploring every nook and cranny to track down all of the cards for the four main decks just got even more fun....

According to the game’s PR company speaking with Jim Sterling, there are no immediate plans to fix the frame rate issues in Deadly Premonition 2. Per Sterling, and other reviewers, the frame rate is worse when you are outside, but seems to come off a bit better once you step indoors. There comes a point when something leaks so much that you’d assume an official reveal would just take place, regardless of the timeline. Not the case for Returnal, as a brand new leak is here, shared via a YouTube video in an icon-era forum post (thanks, PCGamesN). The video has been taken down now, but not before people could clock some of the settings in the video. Settings apparently included things like shadows, lighting, ray tracing, as well as a “screen optimisations” toggle, all of which sounds pretty par for the course settings for a PC game....

Although the Triss mod is new, the Yennefer one has been around for a few months. Called “Yennefer Anya Chalotra retexture,” it does exactly what it says on the tin and replaces The Witcher 3’s Yennefer with her Netflix counterpart by incorporating a lowered hairline, reshaped eyebrows, a tweaked eye colour, and more. The modder in question, who goes by the name WitcherSeb, also developed a Henry Cavill retexture mod....

After showing some bits of the region, it then goes into how you will be collecting raw materials for use in crafting. Craftable items include lures, healing potions, smoke bombs, and crafting the “mysterious” invention known as a PokeBall. Your Pokemon team can help you collect these materials too, but the majority can be found by breaking rocks, picking plants up, and defeating or catching Pokemon in the wild. After the crafting segment, the video switches to focus on Pokemon you can catch in the wild....

Twitch is adding phone verification chat, which allows streamers and their moderators to only limit livestream chat access to viewers who verified their phone numbers. The company is also updating the existing email verification system. The idea is that both can be used together to verify, as much as possible, that the viewer is a real person, which should help keep bots away. Users are allowed up to five Twitch accounts per phone number, but if one account gets suspended from Twitch, the rest are gone, too....

The leak originated on 4chan, where the user responsible for postingit noted their intention in uploading this information was to disrupt the online video streaming space, citing Twitch’s “toxic” community as a motivating factor. If you have a Twitch account, it’s probably best that you either alter your password or enable two-factor authentication to safeguard your account and your payment details. VGC reports that an “anonymous company source has stated that the leaked data is legitmate,” though at the time of writing Twitch has yet to offer a formal statement....

Two Point Campus will be released for PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox on May 17. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC Game Pass on day one. In the game, you are tasked with building a college campus and helping shape the lives of your students. You will need to make sure your students are happy students and have good grades as both will lead to an increase in Campus prestige....

The Microsoft Store has done it again. This week’s fresh leak is Two Point Campus, the new project from Two Point Studios, the developer of Two Point Hospital. Two Point Campus’ Microsoft Store page went up earlier this morning, seemingly ahead of a full announcement. As is often the case with Microsoft Store leaks, the page is fairly well-fleshed out with gameplay details, platforms and even a few screenshots. The upcoming game does not yet have a release date, but we do know that it’s at least coming to PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S....

According to the company, there may have been some “inaccuracies involving the Ubisoft titles that will be playable on PS5.” So it might be a possibility that some of the games listed below will still be playable when PS5 launches. According to its latest financial report, the Avatar game in the works at The Division maker Massive has been delayed into the company’s fiscal year 2022. This means we won’t see the game released until sometime after April 2022. The sequel to the original James Cameron film has also been delayed into December 2022, which is one of the reasons for the game’s delay, according to Ubisoft (thanks, Gamespot)....

You can now play Early Access blockbuster Valheim in first-person mod. That’s thanks to a mod from NexusMods user Kailen37, which allows people to play the survival title from a first-person perspective. In order to access this, players with the mod installed simply have to keep zooming in and eventually you’ll end up in first-person mode. By Kailen37’s own admission, this is “still very much a work in progress,” but the modder says that it is not only “pretty playable” but also “fun....
