According to Nintendo dataminer OatmealDome along with dataminers recordreader, BLBambooMK2, and fishguy6564, when Wave 2 DLC was released for the game this week, Nintendo accidentally left a list of music preview files inside of the update. According to the developers, the teams are working on the next patch that will be more substantial and consists of bug fixes, improvements, and additional features, based on the feedback received. This patch fixes various ray-tracing-related crashes, improves Windows version check to prevent false positives, makes visual improvements to HBAO+, and fixes the issue where ray-traced reflections in stainless steel were rendered distorted. Both companies appear to be following recent trends in the tech industry, which has found itself in turmoil over recent months with downsizing and mass layoffs occurring at various companies across the US. First reported by CNBC, Microsoft appears to be cutting 10,000 jobs in preparation for slower revenue growth. Last October, it had previously forecast the slowest growth period since 2016, which those at the company have held up as the main reason for this wave of departures....
As detailed in a new blog post over on the game’s website, Microsoft and Asobo have pushed out a huge new patch for Microsoft Flight Sim that introduces some key updates to the game that improve performance and stability in the popular simulator game The developer notes that the patch includes “performance optimizations when flying close to large airports such as Dallas-Ft Worth (KDFW)” and “performance optimizations of server requests when in the menus and during flight” have been applied, meaning that the game should run just that bit smoother than before if you’ve upgraded to the latest patch....
Microsoft started internal testing on Project xCloud for PC this week. This is according to The Verge which was given a sneak peek at it on Windows 10. In order to stream Xbox games to a PC, users will need to download a Xbox Game Streaming app for Windows 10. According to the article, the interface looks similar to what’s available on mobile. As reported by The Korea Herald (via GamesIndustry), Minecraft will soon be classified as an R-rated game in South Korea thanks to Microsoft informing players in the region that they will need an Xbox Live account in order to play the game. This harkens back to a law that was introduced in the country back in 2011 that prohibits minors from playing games between midnight and 6am. Rather than add systems that can identify minors during that time, Microsoft just changed its Korean policy to only allow those over the age of 19 to hold an Xbox Live account....

PlayStation boss Jim Ryan has revealed in a GQ interview that more of the console’s first-party exclusives will make their way onto PC, starting with Days Gone sometime this spring. Developer Cold Symmetry’s Mortal Shell is getting an expansion August 18 that will add a roguelike mode that will shuffle Mortal Shell’s romp through Fallgrim up. It will also add a new shell for players to play as in both the expansion and the base game. The new trailer for the expansion shows off all the new features.
