After its initial delay from October 27, Blizzard has announced World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will now be made available on November 23. Shadowlands was originally delayed to allow more time for fine-tuning and polish based on feedback from the ongoing beta test. In Shadowlands, the Horde and the Alliance will “forge their own fate” in the eighth expansion for the MMO. Upon entering the Shadowlands, you will find the otherworld in disarray....
On November 23 we’ll finally be able to pass beyond the veil and see what life is like for the dead of Azeroth and beyond, and hopefully spot a few familiar faces from WoW’s 16-year history. We now have a much clearer view of how we’ll be spending our time in the afterlife, but whether you’re planning on joining the proud blue Kyrian of Bastion, the skeleton-clad Necrolords of Maldraxxus, the serene and fairy-like Night Fae of Aardenweald, or the bitey Venthyr of Revendreth, there’s a plethora of new content for us all to experience as we’re transported to the Shadowlands....
Most of what was shown off at The Game Awards was not targeted towards the Xbox audience. Sure, there were a few cross-platform titles, but with big names like Final Fantasy 16 and Death Stranding 2 showing up for PS5, and Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon and Fire Emblem: Engage making an appearance for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox was kind of the odd one out. So as spotted by VGC, Xbox’s marketing boss Aaron Greenberg took to Twitter to address some of the fans wondering where the big reveals for Xbox were....
But what if there was the ability to block users across all platforms? While this is not something that’s being discussed by Sony and the like at present, it is something Microsoft has brought up. Discussing the topic, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has said he thinks the ability to ban and block users across multiple platforms is a solid idea. Speaking in an interview with The New York Times (via Eurogamer), the Xbox boss noted that the subject was something he would like to see implemented across all platforms, but also noted it may not be an easy thing to accomplish....
Starting today, Microsoft’s new Xbox Wireless Controllers are now available in Xbox Design Lab. You can choose from 18 different available colors for most controller parts, and new colors have been introduced like Shock Blue, Pulse Red, and Electric Volt. Also new is the black-on-color ABXY button option, as well as a new black-on-white color option for the View, Menu, and Share buttons. The company said that most of the color options are made with plastics containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials by weight....
Players have discovered that a small, otherwise-normal pile of rocks in the northern area of the game’s English map holds a peculiar secret for Vikings curious enough to venture a little out of their way. As demonstrated in a helpful video by JorRaptor (thanks, Kotaku), all you need to do is head up to Northumbria and visit Brunson Turret. Then, if you make your way to a nearby lake, you’ll find a small island with a pile of rocks on it....
The amount of content you’ll get to try out this far ahead of the game’s proper launch is pretty impressive, too: the multiplayer pre-alpha suite will include four Italian maps that you can use to test out multiple game modes (including co-op vs AI, competitive PvP, and Skirmish vs AI). Playable factions include botht the US or the Wehrmacht. Though the alpha isn’t set to go live until 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT today (November 30), you can pre-load the game right now to maximise the amount of time you’ll actually get to play the game once it’s installed on your machine....
During an official FanFest live stream on Friday, Spencer made some interesting comments about Microsoft’s plans to revive a trivia game “from [the company’s] past”. As mentioned over on VGC, Spencer commented on the potential revival during a stream that was supposed to run alongside a quiz. Technical issues killed plans for the quiz, but Spencer still appeared on the stream and teased the re-introduction of the popular game....
The colours pop off the screen, it’s brighter, has better vibrancy, improved colour accuracy, and really showcases how great looking some of the games on the Switch are. So, following up with A Plague Tale: Requiem was never going to be an easy feat. Asobo wasn’t even sure if it’d get to make a sequel to the game whilst the original was in development – and that’s probably for the best. It means the original story wasn’t chopped up, butchered, and Frankenstein’d back together for the sake of a sequel. It means that each game retains its own identity, its own outlook, and its own take on where storytelling and mechanics intersect....
Player counts will be limited for the multiplayer beta, so if you want to a chance to be included, be sure to register for the Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition test. The initial test will have a small pool of players, but it will open up to more people in March (thanks, RPS). Along with the small multiplayer test, the developer will also be seeking feedback on the game’s campaign....
Most of the gear you craft in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a set shelf life, but if you manage to find enough golden nuggets on your island and beyond, you’ll be able to craft golden tools which last for a much, much longer time. Don’t waste this gilt edged chance to gather precious resources! Regular tools break after just a few uses, but some golden tools are good for hundreds of swings....
The world of Animal Crossing has always been built around the idea that it runs in real-time, right alongside the real world. There’s no sped-up video game day-to-night cycles here - a minute in the real world is a minute in Animal Crossing, too. A day, likewise. Characters have birthdays to celebrate on certain dates, and the game’s wide selection of wildlife detailed on our fish list and bug list change - so in a few days at the end of the March a bunch of fish and bugs will disappear until later in the year....
Apex Legends was finally released on Valve’s storefront on November 5 and – at the time of writing – boasts the fourth-highest concurrent players on the platform, according to Steam Charts, coming in behind Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. On Sunday, November 8, Apex Legends saw its peak concurrent users to date, attracting 116,558 over the weekend and has had 79,434 users playing on average. When Respawn announced the Steam version’s release date, the studio also revealed that the Nintendo Switch edition was no longer coming out in 2020....
Apex Legends was released on Valve’s storefront back on November 5, 2020, and since then it’s been a pretty popular and enduring PvP game. Even by November 10, we saw the game claim the accolade of fourth-highest concurrent player count on Steam – an impressive feat for a game that had been on the storefront for only five days. Now, though, the game has hit an impressive 198,235 simultaneous players on Steam....
While platforms or a date were not provided, we do know it stars Vin Diesel as the main character, well it seems that way anyway. The trailer will be released tomorrow, but IGN pulled it early so you can see it below. Once we know more about the game, we will provide an update.
Before it was acquired by Bethesda, Arkane had a partnership with Valve and was working on a game called The Crossing. The Crossing aimed to blend a single-player narrative with multiplayer by making the hero occasionally face off against player-controlled characters. But the project never saw the light of day. Speaking during a recent interview to celebrate the studio’s 20th anniversary, I asked Arkane Lyon studio director Romuald Capron if the developer was still interested in multiplayer....
The update for Assassins Creed Valhalla is available on all respective platforms. Today’s Title Update adds support for Wrath of the Druids, preparing the game for the expansion’s release on May 13. New skills added include Cold Rage, Eye of the North, and Intense Rage. You can also expect various gameplay improvements, balancing, and issues addressed with Quests, World Events, and Side Activities. Issues have also been addressed with Graphics, Audio, Animation, River Raids, Jomsvikings, and more....

Speaking in an interview with Gamespot, Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke said not to expect Baldur’s Gate 3 to leave early access this year. Instead, the team at Larian is aiming to release the game in 2022, but there are still “no guarantees,” (thanks, Blue). “We are really trying to get the game done by next year,” said Vincke. “It’s not gonna release this year for sure.” That said, the team is currently busy developing content for the game, which is why there has been radio silence since the Druids arrived with Update 4....
