Update: Sega has today clarified that the DMCA sent to Steam Database’s hosting service was made in error. In a statement issued to VG247 today, Sega said that it is no longer perusing the game’s removal off SteamDB. “Earlier this week, one of our games was incorrectly flagged on SteamDB. We utilize anti-piracy software to protect our games at a large scale, but sometimes it makes mistakes. Sega will continue to fine-tune these systems to avoid this in the future and we appreciate SteamDB cooperating with us to resolve the issue quickly,” reads Sega’s statement....
Earlier this week (June 15), Epic Games teased the arrival of more Naruto characters coming to the immensely popular battle royale. The teaser image didn’t really show much, other than the word “Rivals!” And now the upcoming characters seem to have been revealed in an issue of Shonen Jump Magazine, which includes Hinata, Gaara, Itachi, and Orichimaru. Based on the teaser from Epic Games, these four characters should be joining the game June 23, so towards the end of next week....
Sony is closing down the film and TV show sections of its PlayStation Store. The news was revealed via the PlayStation Blog, in which the firm said that people could no longer buy or rent films or television series from the platform as of August 31. At this point, any content that people have already bought will still be available for purchase; folks just won’t be able to buy anything else....
Moving on quickly from the bad pun, the Kickstarter for Zoo Tycoon: The Board Game is launching later this month, with a planned release of next year, being described as “Your zoo in a box with more than 230 Animal Meeples. A highly thematic board game experience for 2-4 players” (thanks Eurogamer). Like the video game, the board game will have you building “a zoo that focuses on marquee animals like Lions, Gorillas, or Elephants to attract and thrill guests,” as explained by publisher Treecer....
According to a report from Vice, the bans were issued on Monday and some of those banned were using a cheat program called EngineOwning. The report also states one of the players banned for cheating was streamer Nick ‘Wagnificent’ Wagner for reportedly using the program. The official website of the cheat has also acknowledged the program has been detected by Activision (thanks, IGN). Vice notes it’s unknown at present if all 20,000 of the banned players were using this particular cheat, but that many users in the EngineOwning forum complained of being recently banned....

Pac-Man turns 40 years old today, and to celebrate the occasion some researchers at gaming hardware company Nvidia has been hard at work training an AI based around the game. This AI wasn’t created to play Pac-Man, however - it was created to build it. The concept is simple, though the execution is so brutally complicated we won’t get into explaining it in detail. The latest character to join King of Fighters 15 is Andy Bogard. News that the series vet was joining the brawler’s roster was announced in a trailer from publisher SNK. To date, Bogard has appeared in almost every single entry in the King of Fighters franchise, following his debut in the predecessor Fatal Fury series. News that the game was in development broke in August 2019 before the title was actually revealed in January of this year....
