A new study, conducted by BonusFinder in collaboration with sports scientists and competitive gamers, discovered that the average players’ average heart rate increases the most whilst playing Dark Souls, but Fall Guys and Mario Kart – games supposedly aimed at the more casual side of the gaming market – also have a pretty significant impact. In the study, 14 players were asked to play 16 of the most popular games currently on the market while having their heart rate monitored....

Arkane Studio’s mind-bending shooter Deathloop has been on many people’s radar since it debuted at E3 in 2019, and since then it’s only gotten more impressive. In a blog post today, Bungie announced it will be cycling out older content in Destiny 2 and adding it to what it’s calling the Destiny Content Vault. According to the post, Destiny 2 is “too large to efficiently update and maintain” and its size and “complexity” are contributing to “more bugs and less innovation. Because of this, each year, Bungie will be cycling out older, less actively played content and into the vault starting with Beyond Light this fall....

Update: After a few complaints that the first section of The Lie was too difficult, Bungie has reduced the power level of Champions and progression has been tuned. This is the game’s second season in 2021, taking over from Season of the Chosen which is drawing to a close today after its three month tenure. According to the developer, beginning this fall with Season 12 of Destiny 2, the “core parts” of the seasonal experience will “live on” after the current season has ended. Developer Lucid Games has announced that Destruction AllStars, the PlayStation 5 exclusive title that launched for players via PS Plus, will be available for $20 on April 6, when it leaves the subscription service. UK readers, no Sterling price has been announced, but you can likely expect it to land in the £15/20 region. The game’s full retail price was initially set to go on sale at an eye-watering $70 – but somewhere along the line, plans changed and it ended up on PS Plus, and will now be sold at a much more affordable price point....

During the presentation, Blizzard offered a look at several different aspects of Diablo 4. The open-world was shown off, with players able to squad up and take on local events. The world is filled with over 150 dungeons, and towns/settlements to retake from the forces of evil. As you play, the map will change, with settlements opening up missions and specific characters and vendors. Character customisation was also shown, and it looks to offer plenty of options for designing your own warrior....

Unlike Dontnod’s earlier work, Twin Mirror will not be an episodic game. The game originally started out as a multi-episode adventure, but the developer decided to redesign it as a full experience on day one. Following its delay last year, Dontnod partnered up with Epic Games to self-publish the game on the Epic Games Store, which allowed the developer more time to polish it and turn it into a single game....

As players were anxiously waiting for Doom Eternal to unlock, a few noticed something particularly strange in the game’s files. The install folder had the usual, main .EXE file, but also another one untouched by the Denuvo DRM. The unmodified file, for some reason, was left in the downloaded package, under a folder called “original” no less. As I am sure you know by now, the whole point of Denuvo DRM is to thwart piracy at launch, but that doesn’t work if anyone could freely access the game without said DRM....

According to Bethesda, Doom Eternal sales figures over the opening weekend doubled the launch revenue of Doom 2016. Sales figures weren’t provided. The game was also the best-selling title on Steam for the week and saw over 100,000 concurrent players on the platform. That is over twice as high as Doom 2016’s peak, at 44,271. It has also gone down rather well with critics. Doom Eternal released on Friday, March 20 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One....

Here’s how it works. Rather than a game where eight players fight in a free-for-all, you and your partner take on three other teams of two. Each team shares a life pool, and must communicate to construct team compositions that compliment each other. If they don’t, the pair will end up dead last. Double Up also adds a few interesting twists to the typical structure of TFT games, including the ability to send champions you buy and level ups to your partners board, as well occasionally sending them gifts of item components or gold....

Dungeons 3 is available for free on the Epic Games Store until November 19. The latest installment in the series of strategy games tasks you with building and managing your own dungeon. You will also recruit monsters and place traps. And in a first for the series, there will be randomly generated levels, so that no two sessions are alike. According to the figures over on SteamDB, the all-time peak for Dying Light on Steam was 45,876. Released in 2015, the game is still being played on Steam - right now by 29,813 folks. As of press time, there are 265,808 people playing Dying Light 2, and the all-time peak currently sits at 266,815. We expect the figure to go up as more folks get their hands on the game....

That’s according to a Bloomberg report which states as much. The unannounced game reportedly had 50 people working on it for whom the company is trying to find new positions. It’s reported those who cannot be placed elsewhere in the company will be laid off, according to the outlet’s sources. Codenamed TFL or Titanfall Legends, the game is said to have been a single-player affair under the direction of Mohammad Alavi, who left EA in early 2022....

Reddit user -shin-, known as shintendo on other platforms, recently shared a short look at their take on an Elden Ring demake for the Game Boy. And it’s looking good! So far they seem to have built out the opening area of the game, the Chapel of Anticipation, with what appears to be the Vagabond starting class. There is of course the classic trusty dodge roll, which doesn’t have a dedicated animation, but more of a goofy if not charming sprite spin....

The test, which is being held in order to “improve the quality of the product” will be completely free to all who get in, and will run as five sessions. You will need to register for a chance to play the test before November 1 and – at the time of writing – there isn’t a massive amount of detail on what will actually be playable when it goes live....
