Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing is technically the first boss of the gauntlet. If you’ve been paying attention to his dialogue throughout the game, you’ll know that Ofnir always gave off bad vibes, and it likely won’t surprise you that he’s going to turn on you just as you’re getting closer to your goal. This fight is particularly crucial for story reasons, because Ofnir will happily spill the beans about how rigged this whole thing might be....

Humankind, which is pegged as a rival to hit strategy game Civilization, will be removing its anti-piracy tech before the game is even out, a developer has confirmed on the game’s forum. Amplitude staff said the game is tracking to be particularly popular, and that makes it a prime target for pirates, but in spite of the potential for lost profit, the developer will remove Denuvo in order to ensure paying players get the best experience in-game....

In this new Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity video, you are introduced to Master Kohga who is leading the Yiga Clan against Hyrulean forces. There is also an ominous figure which seems to be aiding them. Breath of the Wild players will recognize Master Kohga as one of the bosses from the game. Like the previous video, not too much is shown, but whereas the last one showed off allies, this one shows the antagonists....

Ubisoft announced the release date for the second Immortals Fenyx Rising DLC today. The DLC introduces a new open-world, characters, and story inspired by Chinese mythology, and centering on a new hero named Ku. You can get an early, free taste of the DLC with a special primer quest, titled We Are Not Alone. This quest is available in-game starting today as part of a free update. Appearing at the southern end of the Valley of Eternal Spring, the new quest offers a “stamina-testing platforming challenge” in the clouds, with a themed prize for players who complete it....

Spoilers for Inside follow When Inside came out, at the time I hadn’t played Playdead’s previous title Limbo, though I was familiar enough with it that I more-or-less knew what I was in for. Both games are puzzle platformers, with a young, silent protagonist whose journey is just as much a mystery to them as it is to you. The world of Inside is an alluring one. There are quite clearly some fascistic undertones to the world, with much of the masses seemingly indoctrinated into following… something....

The bigger the bet is, the more it has to work out. For this to happen, the game needs to appeal to as many people as possible to maximise its chances of recouping the investment. That’s the business, that’s the way things have to work. Armies of talented developers all work to deliver something anyone can find interesting in one way or another. Maybe you don’t care about the franchise, or find its gameplay engaging, but doesn’t it make for a great showcase of your expensive new console and overpriced TV?...

I didn’t expect EA and Hazelight Studios’ to deliver so many gut punches in It Takes Two. A co-op platform-puzzle-shooter-action-rpg-racing-flying-adventure game about two dolls going on an epic quest together in and around their house seemed like a light-hearted setup, and indeed there’s loads of fun and fantasy on offer here, but it’s peppered with some proper emotional weight that ties the magnificent absurdity together in a surprisingly grounded way....

In a new video for the Prohibition-era strategy game, the Romero’s introduce the inspiration behind the 70 year-old crime boss character - Elvira Duarte, a real world Mexican crime boss born in the 1800s. “My great-grandmother’s name was Elvira Duarte Morales and she lived in Nogales, Mexico,” says John Romero in the Mother’s Day trailer. “Elvira was a real character. She used to walk around with a green parrot on her shoulder and she’d smoke cigareetes and basically tell jokes with the parrot answering her all in Spanish....

Journey was released for PC through the Epic Games Store back in June 2019, and it’s now heading to Steam. You’ll be able to grab it off the service on June 11 once the exclusivity period ends. Announced for PC at The Game Awards 2018, the title follows thatgamecompany’s other original PlayStation game, Flower, which arrived on Steam and EGS in February 2019. Originally released for PS3 in 2012, and on PS4 in 2015, the PC version has been optimized with 4K graphics....

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is planning to make some major improvements to the dinosaur park management series coming off the back of the original game. Development studio Frontier Developments has outlined how improved dinosaur behaviour, enhanced biome creation and a new campaign will make the game feel more true to its roots than ever before. The first development diary from the management sim sequel can be seen below, and perhaps the most interesting elements of the video focuses on velociraptor AI....

Mitchell, who came to prominence in the mainstream through the award-winning documentary King of Kong, first filed a lawsuit against Twin Galaxies in April 2019. Speaking to Ars Technica, he now confirms the case was officially served to the gaming scoreboard in February, with a detailed complaint later added in March. The defamation suit stems from 2018 when Twin Galaxies announced Mitchell did not achieve his Donkey Kong high scores on unmodified arcade hardware....

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, a remaster of the original action RPG, is in the works. A page for the game popped up on the Microsoft Store. The page confirms remastered visuals and “refined” gameplay. The game is listed for August 11, which, along with all other details on the page, makes it look like we’re getting close to an official announcement. Kaiko is the developer behind the game, having previously worked on the Darksiders remasters....

As of today, May 20, the pink puffball cometh to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack members in the form of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Initially released on the Nintendo 64 back in 2000, the game was HAL Laboratory’s first dabble with making Kirby 3D. It wasn’t until this year, with Kirby and the Forgotten Land, that we saw Kirby go on their first fully 3D adventure. According to a since-removed video on the official Star Wars YouTube channel, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be released October 20. The date was revealed alongside other news in a round-up video, noticed by Discussing Film. Shortly after the news broke, the video got taken down. It’s not clear whether the date is simply incorrect, or that it was not meant to be announced now. In any case, the cat is out of the bag, though it appears many had expected the game sooner than the fall....

In the first three days after launching in the West, more than 4.7 million new users joined the game, and currently, more than 10 million come from North America, Europe, South America, and Australia. The game is rather popular, and drew a rather large audience at launch as it saw 1.32 million concurrent users on Steam which is the second-highest in Steam history. This is despite issues with servers and long queues....

Lost Judgment is being developed by the studio that is also responsible for the Yakuza series. The title combines detective work, film noir, and battles in a mystery thriller with Takayuki Yagami as the protagonist - a private detective who defends those “who are not protected by the law.” The game will be released on September 24 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One....

Love ’em or hate ’em, Funko and its line of Pop! figures are here to stay, and now we can expect to see them starring in some kind of AAA video game. Announced at San Diego Comic-Con, Funko is collaborating with 10. 10 Games, a studio founded by British developer Jon Burton last year. The two will be making “triple-a video games together,” starting off with an action platformer. “Creating iconic products that emotionally connect fans to their favourite fandoms is critical to each product portfolio decision,” said Funko CEO Andrew Perlmutter....
