Animal Crossing: New Horizons players love to recreate scenes and moments from the wider pop culture in their game. New Horizons offers just enough tools and props that you can convincingly recapture the magic of early 2000s music videos, or recreate the entire Sinnoh map from Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. Sumo Digital’s David Dino was excited to get the the magma floor and wall, so he decided to recreate the iconic high ground scene from Revenge of the Sith....

According to Rocksteady since the initial 2018 letter regarding harassment of female employees was received, it has dealt with the issues raised. Rocksteady states that in response to the initial communication, it met with female staff and “dealt with the issues raised.” “All formal complaints were thoroughly investigated, addressed appropriately and a number of serious measures were taken in response to the issues that were surfaced, including discipline or termination of staff,” reads the statement....

As with most console games, Saints Row The Third Remastered will be locked to 30fps on PS4 and Xbox One. Not only that, but the more powerful consoles - PS4 Pro and Xbox One X - won’t be getting any modes that favour framerate. This fact was revealed in an IGN video, which also confirmed that the PC version thankfully won’t suffer from the same limitation, allowing PC players to push visuals and framerate, so long as they have the hardware for it....

The game has not yet got a solid release date, but we do know that it’s aiming to launch in the first quarter of 2021 on both PC and PS5. It’ll be available in in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese at launch, too. It’s worth noting at this point that the original Salt and Sanctuary game eventually came to Nintendo Switch (and Steam), so we may yet see the hard-as-nails platformer follow-up come to other platforms, too....

Riot Games has dropped a reveal trailer for Sage, Valorant’s fourth hero. Sage is mainly a healer, capable of refilling lost HP for herself or teammates with her Healing Orb ability. Her ultimate, Resurrection, can bring a single teammate back to life with full health. Sage is also a crowd control character. Her main ability is Slow Orb, which lets her cast orbs that break on contact. When broken, a certain liquid spills out, slowing down enemy movement in the area it covers....

Games installed on the mini-console (via VGC) include Popful Mail, Shining Force CD, Silpheed, Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Virtua Racing, and others. It will also include a port of Fantasy Zone, a game that wasn’t released on the original console. The mini-console is set to launch in Japan on October 27 for ¥9,980 ($75). A date for other regions has yet to be announced, and more details will likely come at a later date....

This rating has appeared rather unexpectedly, given that many of the most recent leaks were supposedly related to a remake of Silent Hill 2 or a playable teaser for some sort of mainline instalment. The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, where Gematsu found the information about the rating, has the publisher for Silent Hill: The Short Message listed as UNIANA. Now, one look at UNIANA’s track record, and you’ll find that it’s one of Korea’s biggest arcade game manufacturers....

Not so long ago, details of a Silent Hill 2 remake were leaked and rumours surrounding the title became rampant. When not-E3 rolled around, however, many a Silent Hill fan were left disappointed to see that the game wasn’t mentioned, myself included. Rumours could just be rumours, or this could be something we’ll see in the distant future, only time will tell. In the meantime, a group of fans known as Codeless Games are currently trying to remake the entirety of the original 1999 Silent Hill game in Unreal Engine 5....

The iconic musician showed off the custom fridge via an Instagram post on Saturday. A video on the social networking site shows the rapper opening the fridge to reveal both an Xbox Series X console, and a cake made in its image, too. The video was deleted shortly after it was posted, though – probably because there’s an as-yet-unannounced collaboration between Microsoft and Snoop himself, and the presence of the massive home good probably gives a bit too much away....

Half-Life: Alyx developer Valve fully anticipated that community modders would poke at the game enough to try and make it playable outside of VR, despite the developer repeatedly saying the experience would only work in VR. Valve News Network’s Tyler McVicker is among the first to actually try and see if any aspect of Half-Life: Alyx can be explored without a VR headset. It turns out, Valve accidentally shipped a debug mode with Alyx that enables a wealth of options intended for testing....

Furthermore, the listing states the game will receive a batch of DLC after release (via reddit). If the date sounds familiar to you, it’s because it popped up in the PlayStation database at one point before being removed (thanks, Nintendo Everything). Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set to open in theaters on April 8, 2022, according to an announcement from Paramount (via Variety). The film company announced back in May the sequel was in the development stages. It was also announced at that time, director Jeff Fowler and scriptwriters Pat Casey and Josh Miller will return for the sequel. Sonic the Hedgehog was released in theaters earlier this year and went on to become one of the most successful video game movies of all time....

According to Fuji News Network, the problem arose after Naka purchased 10,000 shares of stock in developer Aiming while employed at Square Enix in 2020. Both companies were co-developers of the Dragon Quest Tact mobile game. The special investigation unit claims Naka knew of “important information about the new game,” which led Naka to purchase ¥2.8 million worth of stock. Two other Square Enix employees were also arrested on suspicion of insider trading after the two purchased 162,000 shares of Aiming for around ¥47....

Sony has acknowledged the response to one particular change made to PS4 recently. With the release of firmware update 8.00 - likely to be the last major update for seven-year-old console, Sony changed the structure of parties. Previously, anyone with a PlayStation Plus subscription could start a party, and invite others to join them in-game as well as obviously in voice chat. Invites could be sent out to anyone, friends and others you meet online, and everyone went their separate ways once the party had been disbanded....

How did the leaks happen? Well, according to game director Cory Balrog, a retailer selling God of War: Ragnarok early is to blame. There were also a few screenshots released prematurely by an individual who had linked their PlayStation and Twitter accounts (oops), but a few images pale in comparison to the entire game being out in the wild. “As we approach launch, it is important for our studio to preserve the experience of God of War Ragnarök for players who want to enjoy the game for the first time without spoilers,” Sony Santa Monica writes in its statement....

Things aren’t much quieter this week, in part because of the IndieCade virtual event, which kicks off today and runs until Saturday, October 24. You can expect a host of developer-lead streams, new gameplay reveals and other conference-like sessions you’ll be able to view from home. The Direct is planned to be held August 10, so this coming Wednesday, at 2pm BST/ 3pm CEST, and promises about 30 minutes of updates regarding the upcoming third-person-shooter. You’ll be able to watch the direct on Nintendo UK’s official YouTube channel when it goes live later this week. Other than that, no specific details on what we can expect to see in the Direct, though obviously Nintendo has plenty to show us considering it’s around 30 minutes long....
