Sure, the Microsoft event may very well have had more games, but it lacked something utterly crucial: tangible, real, next-generation showstoppers. Halo Infinite is of course launching alongside the Xbox Series X, but the showcase made clear that it’s not the next-gen powerhouse you’re looking for. It’s optimized for Xbox Series X, but ray tracing won’t be in at launch. It runs at 4K and 60fps, which is great, but it ultimately looks like a current-generation game with the resolution turned up....

To me, it feels like the video game community online is currently in the middle of a glorious time warp back to the early 2010s. High quality remasters like Mass Effect Legendary Edition and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 are prompting replays, reevaluation and hearty discussion of these classics. But in the case of the former, I’ve noticed one trend that I think sucks: the widespread advice to skip over the first Mass Effect game....

Revealed back at E3 2019 and originally named Gods and Monsters, this action romp has the protagonist – Fenyx – exploring an open-world inspired by Greek mythology. Its art style and general gameplay has drawn comparisons to Nintendo Switch title The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has shared a few details about what’s coming to the game this week. Modern Warfare’s frontpage playlists typically get updated on Tuesdays. This week, the developer has a few interesting additions lined up. First, players will be getting an infantry-only Ground War playlist. In it, the action will be limited to infantry combat, with IFVs and APCs completely removed. Gunfight’s 3v3 sniper variant is coming back this week, played on Rust....

This is not how I would describe my relationship with games. You might be familiar with the notion of the “podcast game,” a game that can comfortably be played with just a fraction of your total attention, the audio either muted or ignored while a podcast, TV show or Twitch stream plays in the background. This has gone from being something I’ll do occasionally to being how I spend most of my time with games, and even factors into deciding the games I play in the first place....

Game director Josef Fares has said that he’ll give you $1,000 if you become tired of the upcoming It Takes Two. The developer made this rather bold claim during an interview with Game Informer, saying that it is very hard to become bored of the forthcoming release. “That’s another thing that I can guarantee you with It Takes Two: It’s impossible, and quote me on this, to get tired of this game," Fares said....

During its E3 2021 Ubisoft Forward showcase, the French publisher enlisted the help of Todrick Hall to announce the new version of the yearly dance title. Hall also announced that a tidied-up version of his latest song – Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels – will feature in the game (minus, of course, all the filth). Ciara, Imagine Dragons, and Haliee Steinfeld will also be added to the game in the latest iteration....

In an interview between IGN Japan, Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto, concept artist and Pyramid Head designer Masahiro Ito, and composer Akira Yamaoka, the three spoke about a pretty wide range of topics to do with the games’ history, as well as its future. For one, it sounds like the overall sentiment at Konami is that the developers at the company have wanted to bring it back for a while....

These projects were submitted to the Lego Ideas website by fans and achieved a certain benchmark of fan votes in order to progress to this stage. At this point, each will now be submitted to a board of Lego designers and decision-makers; at least one of the sets will be green-lit for elevation to become a real-world Lego set that you’ll be able to buy in stores. The first of the two gaming designs qualified for this phase is ‘Pac-Man Moving Display’ by user LiteBricks....

Microsoft was teasing something Cyberpunk 2077 related earlier this afternoon on the official Xbox website and Twitter account, and when decoded, it showed a date of April 20. Looking over the flashing, glitchy images which were decoded by fans, a grainy image shows the silhouette of an Xbox One X console with a controller. An image of the console may have leaked, going by this tweet from Dudeman 1271, but a source for the image could not be found as of press time so we don;t know where the image came from....

In the gameplay preview video above I go over some of the gameplay features you can expect from the full game as well as my early impressions. It’s a bit bitter sweet previewing MMOs because they are investment games with days and months worth of gameplay, and I feel like I only scratched the surface. I wanted to go off and explore everything but there just wasn’t enough time to do anywhere near everything it has to offer....

The stream bascially gave you a the first in-depth look at gameplay featuring Hunter and Wolverine going up against Sabretooth. It also showed some of what Wolverine brings to the table such as his ability to regenrate health, and taunt enemies into focusing on him. The Hunter, which is who you will play as, can fill a variety of combat roles which can focus on damage, support, control, the ability to mitigate incoming damage, or any combination of each....

It looks like we may be playing Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition sooner rather than later, if we’re interpreting this new teaser correctly. The official Age of Empires Twitter account recently posted a cryptic image showing some unit cards. Though it may not look like much, fans figured out that the hotkey for each unit combine to spell out the word ‘gamescom’. This is a strong indication that the game is being released this week, or at the very least, gamescom will bring us a solid release date....

Caves & Cliffs Update: Part 1 for Minecraft will arrive on June 8, Mojang has announced. The update will be available for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Windows 10. It will also be available for the Java Edition on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The update also includes axolotls which are confined to either water or a bucket that can aid you in battle, and the once exclusive Minecraft Earth mob, the glow squid, will also be in the game’s oceans....

As infuriating exercises in being the severalth thing in a series but having the same title as the original go, the Modern Warfare reboot wasn’t half bad. We spent a bunch of time in the multiplayer beta for MW2 ahead of the full release at the end of this month, and found a solid (if a little muddled) Call of Duty game in there. But we have to wonder: in a world far removed from the original Modern Warfare 2, which solidified CoD’s utter dominance of the 360 era back in 2009, what place does 2022’s MW2 multiplayer have in a crowded marketplace full of free-to-play competition?...

In the Monster Hunter Rise footage, you will see new gameplay and Wirebug action. Using this special insect called a Wirebug, you will be able to grapple in any direction, making it possible to scale cliffs and structures.
