Back in June, a report from Venture Beat stated the game was being remastered for PC and consoles. During it’s EA Play Live 2020 showcase in June, EA said it planned to release seven games on Switch, and two of these titles were FIFA 21 and Apex Legends. One of the other seven games mentioned was Burnout Paradise Remastered, which subsequently released for the console on June 19. The Criterion game was originally released in 2010 for last-gen consoles, PC, and mobile....

Fall Guys Season 3 is set to land on PS4 and PC soon, and it’ll introduce a whole new Winter Knockout theme to the multiplayer title. The next Season of Fall Guys content is due to land in the popular game show-themed battle royale title soon, and to drum up some hype, Mediatonic has shown off some of the costumes we can expect to see in the game. Video games giant Take-Two Interactive has killed a website that made and distributed exploits for GTA Online. As spotted by Eurogamer, LunaCheats has been shut down after having had “discussions” with – read: legal threats from – Rockstar’s parent company. This has resulted in the outfit closing down its business, with its website saying that it will be donating proceeds from selling GTA Online cheats to a charity of Take-Two’s choosing....

Tencent, the massive Chinese conglomerate, has launched a new studio in California. The studio, Lightspeed LA, will be working on AAA games intended for global audiences, a fairly new avenue for the company. Reuters reports that Rockstar veteran Steve Martin is heading up the new team, which will become part of the global Lightspeed and Quantum banner. The Orange Country developer has so far hired talent from Rockstar, Respawn, Sony, Insomniac and 2K Games....

Treyarch has rolled out a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This is the first of two patches designed to deliver Season One content. The next patch arrives later today in Warzone with the kick off of Season One. This first update is available only for Black Ops Cold War owners, at a download size between 3.4GB to 7.1GB. Warzone players (free-to-play and otherwise) should be ready for a bigger update later today with the launch of Season One at 11pm PT, 2am ET (tomorrow), 7am UK (tomorrow)....

We’ve known for a little while now that the very, unexplainably gruesome Scorn was coming out in October, but this latest trailer has set a specific date in stone. It was originally meant to launch in 2021, but got pushed back, as many games do. The H.R. Geiger influences are as clear as ever in this newest trailer, showing the player character pulling out… something, from their body. This is followed up with plenty of first-person, fleshy action, with the player character again pulling things out of themselves and pointing things at amorphous creatures....

There will be accessibility features for blind and deaf players and those with motor accessibility needs. The largest new feature is the audio descriptions for cinematics as part of a collaboration with Descriptive Video Works. These descriptions will be integrated into all cutscenes and across all localized. Another feature finds the dialogue playing through the PS5 DualSense controller as haptic feedback....

Hinterland’s episodic survival game The Long Dark is once again available through Nvidia GeForce Now. Back in March, the game was pulled from the streaming service as Nvidia never asked for the studio’s permission to offer the game in the first place. But thanks to the company launching an opt-in program to developers, studios can now “fully control whether or not their games appear on the platform.” This new program is the reason Hinterland decided to allow The Long Dark to be hosted on the service....

After losing his ring to Bilbo Baggins in the depth of the Misty Mountains, Gollum decides to leave his comfortable cavern to embark on a perilous journey to find his precious ring....

It was announced during the Future Games Show yesterday that in addition to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will also head to PS4, Switch, and Xbox One (thanks, Gematsu). Developed by Daedalic Entertainment, the game will have you using stealth to make it past enemies with climbing and parkour elements. It is mostly non-combat, but you will be able to stealthily take out enemies, and use special abilities as well as make use of special allies....

While it’s still very early days for the project — as you may expect considering the fact they’re only now announcing who is filling important roles on the project — it does mark a major milestone on the next big video game adaption from the massive digital media company.
