Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been impressing since its launch, but a new bug may leave players a little intimidated. Players are reporting that a glitch in the game is changing children into adult-sized versions of themselves. The Assassin’s Creed franchise is no stranger to glitches. From faces with… well, no faces in Assassin’s Creed Unity to a slew of other famous visual glitches, the series is never far from serving up something unintentionally funny, or potentially terrifying....

Having headed to Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece, this new Assassin’s Creed title is set around the Viking invasion of Britain, with players taking on the role of either a male or female Eivor as they – as all series heroes do – become tangled in the war between Assassins and Templars. Ubisoft recently showed off Valhalla with a CGI trailer, revealing its Norse setting, longships, throwing axes, and huge battles. In a recent interview with GameSpot, writer Darby McDevitt opened up about how Ubisoft is telling a story in a way it hasn’t attempted before. “We do approach narrative in this game in a very unique way and I think it will be one of the stand-out aspects of the game - the structure of the narrative,” he said....

News of Baldur’s Gate 3 going into Early Access was revealed during an investor event at the New York Toy Fair. According to DSO Gaming, the company also mentioned it has seven Dungeons and Dragons games in development, with plans to release one ga,e per year until 2025. Larian Studios’ Divinity titles were also taken to Steam Early Access, and it worked out well for both titles, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise....

A new patent (cheers, SegmentNext) will read player inputs and match it against frame data in-game, telling players whether they need to speed up their inputs, or hold off from mashing in order to execute the moves they’re aiming to perform. Fighting games, generally, have windows of time when you’re supposed to input the next direction or attack during a combo string – and these windows can often be quite small and difficult to find for novice players....

Within a recently released Battlefield Briefing blog post on the EA website, all the way at the bottom under the heading “What to expect after launch”, there is a short paragraph detailing the seasonal aspect of Battlefield 2042. It begins by clearly stating “Launch is only the beginning.” A commitment is made to not only continue supporting the new Battlefield through new content, but also by “enhancing the Battlefield experience through seasons that will continue to evolve the world of Battlefield 2042....

Season 2 officially kicked off in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone overnight, one day after the release of the big patch. Unfortunately, as is often the case with big updates, a few annoying problems have popped up. In this case, a number of players have been reporting significantly worse performance, particularly on consoles, after installing the patch. Some on the next-gen consoles had to turn off ray tracing to get a solid framerate, and even that doesn’t always help....

Following the departure of Jeff Kaplan from Blizzard, Aaron Keller has stepped up as director on Overwatch over at the development studio – and he’s made his first big announcement since taking on the role. In his first Overwatch developer update as director, Keller dropped the news that we’ll be getting an extensive look at Blizzard’s upcoming hero shooter during a livestream that will take place on May 20. Keller will be joined by lead designer Geoff Goodman, art director Dion Rogers, and other members of the development team as they take a tour through the game, showing off new maps and diving into the design choices that are shaping the follow-up to the 2016 hero shooter....

“Classic Mode” will arrive in a new update, which is headed to the retro-styled platform-RPG in January 2021 on all available platforms. The developer showed off what to expect in the new mode in a tweet (below), which details that this incoming gameplay update will be available to download for free. The update “brings back old-school gameplay as you fight through five levels of demons and challenge Gebel’s deadly bosses” says the tweet – making it appealing to Metroidvania players that grew up with the original titles back in the day....

You will be rewarded for completing Maurice’s challenges during this new seasonal event and will shoot the floating hearts hovering around enemies. Borderlands 3 players can once again participate in the limited-time seasonal event Bloody Harvest. The event kicks off today and runs until November 5. Once again, you will face off against Captain Haunt and his minions to earn rare rewards only available during Bloody Harvest. Maurice will give you a mission to collect Hecktoplasm from the ghosts that spawn after you kill haunted enemies. Once enough Hecktoplasm is collected, Maurice will open up a portal to Heck....

Those who have pre-purchased Borderlands 3 through Steam will be able to pre-load the game on March 10. Once the game releases, you will be able to start playing on the 13th as soon as 7am PT, 10am ET, 3pm UK, 4pm CET. One of the cool things about the release is it will allow you to play with others who purchased the game through the Epic Games Store. PC cross-play workes between the versions thanks to the magic of SHiFT Matchmaking....

Steamforged Games, who also made the Dark Souls board game, announced on its website that an Elden Ring board game adaptation is in the works. Like its Dark Souls predecessor, it is quite simply called Elden Ring The Board Game, though not much about the board game itself has been revealed as of yet. The game is planned to be funded via Kickstarter, which you can sign-up to be notified when it launches....

As part of today’s big Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leak - which originates from the new Warzone patch - three different editions for the game have been unearthed. The details were uncovered by COD Tracker, and leaker @BKTOOR who dug up various in-game hooks and some images relating to all three of them. The thinking is that following tomorrow’s Black Ops Cold War reveal, all three will go live for players to pre-order them....
