Capcom has seemingly decided that Denuvo, the anti-piracy DRM, has done enough for Monster Hunter World. In an update released this morning, Denuvo was removed from the game’s Steam version. Though the patch was announced ahead of time, Capcom didn’t specify Denuvo’s removal. Players instead noticed the significantly smaller .exe file following the patch’s release. This is backed up by the game’s history page on SteamDB. Game publishers have been known to take Denuvo out of their games when it stops serving its purpose....

This isn’t the first time Naughty Dog had job openings for that multiplayer project, of course. The studio has been hinting that one is in development for some time now through various separate ads. This time, however, the developer is more openly talking about it, which makes this the first official confirmation that a standalone multiplayer game is in the works. The report states Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is in talks to both star in the film and produce it through his company Maximum Effort. Our latest look at the upcoming Apex Legends Season 8 is, well, pretty chaotic. The 1980s-styled trailer for the new content - dubbed Mayhem - showcases the new playable character entering the fray, Fuse, whose whole thing seems to be that he’s Australian, a bit mental, and really into explosions. Like, he’s basically Apex Legends’ version of Junkrat, right? Developer Ndemic Creations has released a new free expansion for its wildly popular viral genocide game Plague Inc. that lets you fight a global pandemic instead of spreading one. In a post on the studio’s website, the firm said that the expansion was made with assistance from health experts from around the world, including Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness (CEPI), World Health Organisation (WHO) and Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN)....

On today’s Pokemon-filled news livestream, the Pokemon Company announced New Pokemon Snap, in development for Nintendo Switch at Bandai Namco. The developer showed off a brief gameplay trailer where the player was seen riding an on-rails cart that cuts through various islands where Pokemon live. Sony has released a new incremental firmware update for PS5 consoles worldwide. The new firmware, version 20.02-02.26.00, comes one week after 20.02-02.25.00. Tomorrow, June 1, will see the release of For Honor: Marching Fire Edition for PC via the Ubisoft Connect app and the cloud. The console version has been upgraded to the Marching Fire Edition.
