As you can probably determine from that short explanation, the film follows the story of Vesemir and gives you some context and insight into his whole narrative arc – which will be handy for you to learn ahead of The Witcher Season Two. The animated project, which acts as a prequel to The Witcher Netflix series and was developed by the same team, opted to go for animation because they believed it was the best way to tell this specific story (and it allowed them to do things that would otherwise be unavailable in live action). The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf has a premiere date of August 23, and it’ll be available exclusively on Netflix.
