Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Secret Weapons - How to Unlock Them in New Game +
When you finish the campaign in Rift Apart you get access to the game’s New Game + mode, which is titled Challenge Mode. This lets you run through the game again with all the weapons from your save unlocked already, along with their upgrades and Ratchet’s own ability level carried over too. In order to unlock two secret weapons in Rift Apart you’ll need to start a new save with Challenge Mode, and play through the opening stages, talking to the Zurkon weapon dealers when you get the chance. At some point before you get to Corson V you’ll be given the option to buy two new weapons for one bolt each. We’ve detailed the secret weapons below:
Pixelizer - Fires shots that pixelizes enemies Bouncer - Fires grenades that release micro-grenades
Aside from these two weapons, we’ve got a full breakdown of how to get the RYNO 8 in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, which can be done during your first playthrough, but comes into its own in Challenge Mode where you have more time to level it up and fully upgrade it.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Max Weapon Levels and Full upgrades - Omega weapons
In Rift Apart you can level up each weapon to Level 5 by using it in the campaign. When you reach a new level the game will tell you with an on-screen message and some cool slow-motion. This levelling combined with upgrades bought with raritanium will let you max out each weapon to 100%, although it’s unlikely you’ll do that for every weapon on your first playthrough.
The neat thing about weapons in Challenge Mode is that the level cap increases to Level 10 and new raritanium upgrades are unlocked. This means that as you play through the game for a second time you’ll get more powerful guns, enabling you to potentially ramp the difficulty level up if you want. In order to unlock this next batch of levelling up options you’ll first need to purchase the Omega version of the weapon that you’ve maxed out. These are sold by Ms Zurkon, but come with pretty hefty price tags. As an example, the Omega Peacemaker is 500,000 bolts.
Can you Get Infinite Ammo in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
If you are fed up with running out of ammo for your favourite weapons in Rift Apart, the good news is that you can turn on an infinite ammo perk. The bad news is that this requires you to hunt down gold bolt locations. Thankfully that link you just read past has all the info you’ll need to find them all and get your infinite ammo perk unlocked. Elsewhere on the site we’ve got a full breakdown of every gold bolt location and cheats they unlock, plus the lorb locations on Savali.
