In a new post over on Reddit, the studio has gone into detail about how it’ll resolve a problem in the game for players that suffered the infamous inventory wipe bug that plagued the game at launch. “Items granted will have the same attribute combinations but with god roll values,” says the update from the developer. “This means that these items will be at least the same if not better quality than the originally lost items. “Items will be granted at the character’s highest available equip level taking World Tiers and Challenge Tiers into consideration.” If you lost a decent weapon with good perks when you were only on World Tier 3, for example, the fix will give you that weapon back but with some very good stats and balanced to whatever your current game state is. Lucky you! The developer has previously promised restore the inventories of affected players, and even noted that all stats were subject to changes. Who’d have thought it could work out this well? There’s a lot more detail about the process via which the studio is rolling out fixes, including breakdowns of how the developer is grouping people to better prioritize those that need an urgent fix. You can see all that over on the Reddit post. People Can Fly has yet to say when players can expect their inventories to be restored, but it’s happening soon. It’s not the first time the developer has tried to solve the irritating inventory wiping problem, and People Can Fly’s last attempt at sorting out whatever made this bug occur in the first place reportedly made it worse for a lot of players who did not previously have the problem. Here’s hoping this update and fix has been more rigorously tested and will allow People Can Fly to draw a line under this problematic error once and for all.
